The Foundation of True Leadership: Friendship, Not Convenience
The Foundation of True Leadership: Friendship, Not Convenience.
As the echoes of the St. Thomas Carnival drums fade and the vibrant colors of the parade settle, a profound clarity remains in the quiet after the celebration: a truth has been illuminated for all to see: the people of the United States Virgin Islands deserve leadership rooted in genuine friendship, not political convenience.
Leadership is often treated as a game of calculated alliances—partnerships struck in backrooms just in time for an election cycle. But what Positive Nelson and I share was not born yesterday. Our collaboration is the result of years of mutual respect, shared struggle, and a bond that feels guided by a higher purpose. It is a solid evolution of friendship that has surfaced at this exact moment to provide a common vision and a unified mission for our people.
We have all heard the empty promises and the polished buzzwords that vanish as soon as the ballots are counted. Our partnership is different because it has already been tested. We served together in the legislature, and in all those years, we never once conflicted on our fundamental love for the people of this territory. When you share a heart for the community, the path forward becomes clear. It makes sense. It is organic. It is real.
While the opposition attempts to fabricate scenarios and embark on a path of propaganda, we remain undeterred. We are here, grounded in our history and focused on a positive mission for the future. We don’t need to manufacture a connection; our track record of service speaks for itself. It is time to move beyond the politics of the past. It is time to move Fast, Forward, Together.
The countdown to a new chapter for the Virgin Islands begins.
