Investing in Our Youth, One Meaningful Experience at a Time
Today was an incredible day spent with a bright group of young students from Lockhart Elementary School. We visited the Humane Society of St. Thomas to give them a firsthand look at animal welfare, community care, and the vital mission behind the shelter’s work.
From understanding the responsibilities of pet ownership to meeting the puppies waiting for loving homes, their excitement and curiosity were contagious. After wrapping up our shelter tour, we treated the crew to a movie to relax and unwind.
The highlight of the day was listening to them—hearing their ideas, their sharp perspectives, and how they see our community. When we take the time to engage our young people, show them how compassion works in practice, and truly listen to their voices, we are building a stronger, kinder future for our islands.
